Taxi company in Portomarin

Hi, I am helping some friends set up their Camino, and one of the walkers is likely to need some motorized transportation assistance. I've found some recommendations on this board for taxi companies in other cities on the Frances, but I didn't see any for Portomarin.

I know that they will be able to find a taxi company once they are there but it would ease a little of their anxiety if they had a direct recommendation before departure.

So, has anyone got a recommendation for a taxi company in Portomarin?

Buen camino, Laurie

Hi Laurie
I never stay in Portomarin, I have a favorite private albergue just before. I do remember though everytime I huff puff up those stairs there are always a bunch of taxis out in front of the hotel just there. Can't remember the name of the hotel and do not know the name of any taxi service but there in the square right next to the church there is also a taxi stand, always full of drivers eager to take one on and always depressed when no one is tempted. Those first few kilometers leading out are also very depressing if that factory doesn't get you down then they always seem to be doing something, constructing or destructing to the road, but quickly passed.

Bear in mind that most of the towns along the way, including Portomarin are very small villages.
Most do not have a taxi "company". The taxi drivers most often are just individuals working for themselves or with relatives.
The albergue will be able to put them together with a local taxi with no problem.
The local bar could do the same.

Thanks everyone, I know there are taxi numbers posted all over the camino, but they are going to be much less apprehensive having numbers of recommended taxi drivers. Thanks so much, sil!

Buen camino, everyone. Laurie

Blizzards. Bed bugs. A couple of hundred fellow pilgrims. Road traffic. Gypsies. Food sitting on counters all day. Agua non-potable. Dogs. Full albergues. Blisters. Tendonitis. Twisted ankles. Mosquitoes. Snoring. Perfume. Cell phones. Broken computers. Drunks. Sunday closings. Locked churches.

Thank goodness the Portomarin taxi anxiety is solved! :D :D

Buen camino to them.
