Yesterday another football mum thought I had sun tan coloured leggings on me. No it is just my "beautiful" camino tan.

Ooohhh, that's indeed a pretty colour! I'm kinda envious.

I came back home with 50 shades of pink, even with lots of sunblocker :p

At least my camino freckels were awesome. :D

A few days ago when I was returning home from Santiago I had intermediate stop at Dusseldorf airport. Automatically I said "Hola!" to first three backpackers there and only after they glances suspicious at me I remembered that not every backpacker is a pilgrim. From that moment on I was looking for their natural "white socks". Not to mention that I'm now main attraction in different groups of my friends and family due to those "socks" :D

He he!
I also said hola to some backpackers in Helsinki airport.

In the dim and distant past I used to have ginger hair and so have the delicate fair skin to match. So every Camino I go through days of bringing out the mothering instincts with many getting concerned about my red legs, arms and face and telling me what I should do. Now I am no longer a spring chicken and you would think they would realise that I kind of know how my body works wouldn't you? After a week or so I turn a traditional pilgrim brown and white and they stop teaching granny to suck eggs. :) Still I now consider it my duty to allow them the opportunity to show kindness and consideration for another.

It's 10 weeks today since I finished my camino (so long! Oh no!) and I still have a clear "watch stripe" on my wrist and tan marks on the backs of my upper arms (and no it hasn't been "topped up" since getting home, as we're in the depths of a wet Southern winter). My trousers were quite long so the legs stayed lily-white!

Love those camino "white socks". We had great fun in the last part of the camino (post-Sarria) identifying the new arrivals by the colour of their legs - mostly very white on the first day and then very pink!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
In 2013 I walked for a while with a French girl called Lu.

She'd often wear a tee-shirt dress but complained about getting tanned just on the back and left hand side of her legs (Camino Frances) and wondered if she could even it out by doing the revuelta!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi all, I’m starting my Camino Frances on May 12. I’ve booked my first night in SJPDP, but I’m starting to worry I need to book more. My plan was to take it day by day and just turn up, but lots...
Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
If you’re walking the Camino Portugues right now I’d recommend you avoid the complementario route into Pontevedra. While it is quiet and green and follows the river, it’s also a muddy mess. I...
