My boots made it through my 2013 camino pretty well, so I kept them for our daily 5 mile walks when we got home. By that Fall I bought a new pair just like them, but kept my camino boots for rainy/ugly/muddy days. Now those shoes are ready to become the "old" ones so it's about time to throw away my camino boots. Wearing them one last time today on a 10 mile urban walk in New Orleans, then it is goodbye old friends.

Sad to see them go.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I still have my Merrells from my first Camino in 2013. They have been demoted to being worn for mowing the lawn, painting and other dirty chores, ha ha. I believe they are on their final leg and then adios soon.

I still have my Merrells from my 2013 Pilgrimage. I wear them occasionally, but I just don't have the heart to throw them away ! I have an identical pair which I purchased when I got home. Too many memories. After all, do you throw away an old friend because they are old ? I think not.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Only recently did I part with my very first pair of hiking boots - Raichle, bought at REI, Seattle in 1976. It was very hard to part with them even though I stopped wearing them decades ago because of the dreadful blisters they gave me. But there comes a time when de-cluttering becomes crucial....... What helped me part with these still dear-to-my-heart boots was a bit of philosophy I adopted from a friend, which is "Thank it for being in your life, then let it go."

I still have the box those boots came in tho'.

When it is definitely time for old boots to go, they make really cute planters for the porch.

Icaros, that's pretty amazing. And Raichles...I got my first pair at REI in '76 too. Mail-ordered them, having sent a foot tracing. Sigh...Raichle used to be my favorites, but for some reason they're hard to get in the US these days. Well...now I have Keens...and I have to say I love them.
Just welcomed a new pair into my life today.
Pretty, as well as being kind to duck-feet. But they sure won't last like those Rachles....
