Hello fellow pilgrims,

I am currently on del Norte for 11 days and already on my 3rd rest day. I’m thinking about the possibility of switching to the Frances going to Fromista. I know there is a train station there. I’m current above Burgos perhaps I could go there.

How are things currently on the Frances?

😎👣😁

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
In Burgos today. I have stayed off the “main” e.g. Brierley stages and have always had half-empty Albuergues. Once there was only top bunks available. The weather has cooled down quite a bit, making for very pleasant walking.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I'm currently in the town before Oceibro. So far, not too crowded, but more people since Burgos (visibly). Elected to book tonight (first time). Glad I did. People were turned away at Oceibro and had to backtrack.

I've noticed it getting busier at each big town as more people begin/resume their Camino.

Temps are fine, just drink plenty of water.

If you head to Fromista do yourself a favor and walk 4 km farther to stay at Albergue La Finca in Población de Campos. Each "bunk" is like a tiny room, and the upper "bunks" are accessed via a small staircase - no ladders! Get a bed in the newer building, where I think that they have improved the design. The cost is 10€, and they let you use the washing machine for free. The communal pilgrim dinner is also very good.

We fully agree with you about albergue La Finca, our friend Maria Jose.
And if you want to stay in fromista you are welcome in our albergue luz de fromista, also like La Finca in the guide of recommended albergues from Ivar.

I googled Albergue luz de Fromista their website says they are closed for construction☹️ Is that true or does their website need updating? I am going to be in Fromista sometime mid Sept. thanks

Just walk the 4 km to la Finca in Población de Campos. You will not regret it! They take reservations.

Dear Caligal,
Thanks to your response we have seen that we have the page in English incorrectly edited.
We are so focused on our daily work with pilgrims, and the problems we have had since 2017 until the opening have been so many, and so big, that we forgot to check the update of the web…
Sorry and thanks!!!!! Now it´s a little better.

I stayed with you last night—lovely albergue—and loved the beautiful cats, although I only got a small glimpse of them.

Agreed on La Finca. Very comfortable bed, excellent group dinner and the owner is very proud, in a good way, of all the hands-on hard work he has put into the construction of the group dinning room at this Albergue...be sure to ask him about it. I stayed in the newer building and the bathroom was very nice and very big.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I stayed in La Finca last Sept. & loved it! The beds are separate & private. Great menu and free washer. I had the best sleep in a month there.
