Hello all,. Need advice for the best travel to Porto. Last year I did Camino Francais, there is a lot of information out there and it was easy with many options to make arrangements from the USA.

I am having difficulty finding connections to Porto

Any advice

Thank you

Hi Dennis. Welcome to the forums!

How are you planning to get there (plane, train, etc.)? And from where? Porto has an international airport (with direct flights from NYC and probably other cities) and there is a metro station right at the airport, so getting into the city is easy. There is a train station, too.

I leave for Portugal on 18 May. I will fly from USA to Lisbon, then fly Ryan Air to Porto. One can also take advantage of both bus and train from LIS to Porto. Check out Rome2Rio.com Great site!

Be well

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Thank you, last year to SJPD it was plane, train and bus. Any combination works. Thank you for the New York thought, I am hoping to find a low cost carrier like Ryan Air or Vueling.

Hello all,. Need advice for the best travel to Porto.

I use "flighthub" to check availability of flights. It will show me what options are available whether direct or "transfer" including "idle time" between flights.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I'm walking again this year for the 2nd time. Both times I have paid less than $400 round trip from Oakland, CA direct to Barcelona on Iberia. You can also find the same affordable fairs on Norwegian Air. You can search on FlyLevel.com as well. These cheap flights are available from many cities in the US. You can get from Barcelona to Porto or Lisbon in about 2 hours on RyanAir or Vueling for $30 - $90 one way.

Fly to Dublin, then get a return to Porto with Ryanair. Or, Dublin to Porto with Ryanair, and Aerlingus to Dublin from Santiago.
sorry, this sounds so brusque. Meant to just be suggestions! I truly understand feeling frustrated trying to get plans together.

I landed in Lisbon [from Toronto] stayed a day, then took the train to Porto. A connecting flight would have had me land in Porto very late, Lois from Hamilton

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

My final question since I have asked sooo many. Grabbing a light lunch that I can get on the go, hoping to grab it, and find a square or a bench to enjoy it, then get back to walking. Not really...

I’ll be finishing the Caminho Português next month. Last year I wore Hoka Challenger 6 ATR shoes. I did have some blisters and foot pain, but a lot could have been due to the 30+km days from...
Hello, I lost my GoPro with all my pictures on the Camino between Pedra Furada and Aborim last week. Is there a lost and found in SDC? Any other ideas? Thanks and Buen Camino.
