My walking partner tripped and fell just 2k from Santiago ( just beyond the two stone markers) on Friday 23rd September. We were on the final stage from Padron. I want to say thank you to the local man who rang the ambulance which arrived in about 10 minutes. Thank you to the pilgrims that stay with us until the police and ambulance arrived. We discovered at the hospital that my partner's arm was broken. We were very well looked after by the hospital staff from x-ray to discharge. We are home now and recovery is underway and planning our next Camino in 2023.
Thank you once again to all the wonderful people who came to our aid.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
I had occasion in 2018 to accompany a pilgrim who had fallen dramatically and frighteningly ill, in an ambulance to the hospital in Santiago. I was very impressed with the efficiency (they could teach us a few things in Canada), professionalism, and compassion of the staff. I remember the ER physician, when I thanked her for her work onthe way out, saying to me that "it was a privilege to be of help to a pilgrim."

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
So close and yet so far. But your experience of kindness from all those wonderful people sounds like a beautiful gift, in spite of the circumstances.
We are home now and recovery is underway and planning our next Camino in 2023.
May the healing be quick and the planning be a joy!
Buen (and safe!) camino next time, @Caomhin O Fearghaill.

New user here. Hello to you all. New to the forum but not to the Camino. I was told about this Forum whilst I walking the lovely scenic 'Camino Norte'. I'm planning walking another in June.
Hi, A couple years ago I flew into Geneva and took a train to Laussane to begin my Francigena. Next year I would like to fly into Geneva and walk the south side - France into Aigle, Switzerland...
