Time of past OR future Camino
Camino de Santiago (2013)
I injured my big toe (turf toe) about 10 days ago and I am scheduled to begin the Camino in SJPdP on June 15th. I am able to walk now but it is still uncomfortable. Yesterday I walked about 6k and it is getting better each day.

I am going to try to start the Camino as planned but if I find I need more time I will head to Pamplona for a few days and start there.

Any advice on how I can improve my recovery? Am I pushing myself by starting on the 15th?

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I completely understand that you want to try, just mind that a changed gait favoring the one foot can screw up your entire posture and result in all sorts of aches and pains for a very long time after...

I would recommend speaking to your doctor. Any advice you get here might be the right answer but more than likely is not.

Pieces is right about change of gait causing lots of problems. It won't get you in 6 km but it will in 800 km.

I'd encourage you not to push it. I just broke my two smallest toes and was warned that trying to rush the healing could affect my walking, and my spine , ultimately , to the point of becoming a permanently crippling condition. Stop and rest your foot, elevated, whenever it becomes at all painful, and ice it at the end of the day. Take rest days!

Here is a pic from 2016, I love the simplicity of the sketch map and directions "1 km climb up, 5km flat, 5km down". I wonder how the prices are now?
Reposted from Wise Pilgrim comments, was hiking with this pilgrim. Don’t follow app,go just a bit further past to well marked turn, not the one with spray painted arrow on stop sign:
