Villaviciosa to Oviedo - questions on acommodation

Hi,

My cousin and I have been walking the Camino del Norte, bit by bit, for the last couple of years. This year we are planning to walk from Ribadasella - where we finished last year - to Oviedo. We plan to stay in Colunga and Villaviciosa and finish up in Oviedo. The problem we have is finding accomodation between Villaviciosa and Oviedo - we are looking for somewhere around La Vega de Sariego, and although the albergue would be ideal, we dont have credencials and we are starting in 10 days time.

Does anyone have any suggestions for acommodation around La Vega de Sariego or does anyone know if the Albergue in Sariego ABSOLUTELY insists on people having a credencial.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Why don't you collect a credential in Ribadasella? You can then stay in the albergues, keep the credential for all future sections that you do, and when you finally make it to Santiago you will have truly earned the Compostela!
You would then be able to stay in the albergue at La Vega de Sariego.

There are at least 10 Hotels in Colunga - try La Casona del Fraile for a reasonable room. http://www.casonadelfraile.com/
There are twice that number in Villaviciosa - a Google search should show a few that have websites.
Good luck - and buen camino.
