I'm setting off alone in early Oct. scared, lonely & lost.

Can anyone share any insights I can draw strength/reflect on?

Hi James,
I walked alone last fall on the Camino Frances then part of the Camino Portugal. I went following the death of a close friend that passed away at my home from Cancer.

Like you and many others with a story I found the simplicity of the Camino, eat, sleep, walk to be therapeutic. I loved the changing landscape, churches, and kindness of the Albergue staff. The Camino seems to bring out the best in our fellow pilgrims and I met unforgettable and wonderful people from around the world.

Trust yourself, go on your Camino put one foot in front of the other and know it will all work out.

Buen Camino,

Bobbie

Thanks Sedona, I too have had similar experiences. Sometimes I fear being alone - but your right. I'm sure I'll meet others who will help me along my journey. I guess it's the city attitudes that are colouring my view. I only hope pilgrims can accept me for who I am. For I do accept myself.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

October is a lovely time to walk the Camino! There are still enough people around so that you will soon find "your Camino family", but the main rush is over and things are a bit more relaxed. The landscape is stunning in every time of the year and in October you should, hopefully, still have some nice sunny days that are warm, but not too hot. Just do one step at a time and let the Camino take care of the rest. Buen Camino! SY
