Camino Portugese (2016)
Hi everyone,

I've come up with a bit of a last minute idea that I would like to do the Portuguese Camino from Lisbon in November. It would be my third camino. Has anyone experience of walking at this time of year? Particularly with regards to availability of accommodation? I hear often that they begin to close after October.

Thank you for any advice.

In some weird way, the fact that there are fewer pilgrim-specific accommodations on this route means that you will not likely find as many seaasonal closures, since many of the places to stay are non-pilgrim accommodations open to all travelers. I don’t have any first hand knowledge, but know that forum members have walked this route in the dead of winter and have found places open. I would check gronze and start contacting some of the places directly if you have concerns about any particular stage. It should be a nice time to walk this route!

I guess that makes sense :) thanks for taking the time to reply!

I am going to start from Porto end of November this year. That's why I searched a lot of reviews who had been there by that time of the year. I watched some youtube vlogs and read some blog posts... According to them, they were usually alone on the road and met only few pilgrim at albergue. And some albergue wasn't open. And they often met rainfalls... So, you'd better be well prepared about them. But still I am so excited... I have no other time to go to Camino. So no choice, no regret. :)
