I plan on doing the last stage from sarria to Santiago
Hi, going from sarria to santiago in mid april, any thoughts on what the weather would be like?

A selection of Camino Jewellery
April is a wonderful month to walk for so many reasons. As for the what the weather could be well in a word 'Irish';).....i.e. it could be sunny and warm, sunny with a cold wind, sunny (and this can wreck your head) with rain, light rain showers, heavy rain, torrential rain and if unlucky freezing rain.....or a combination of some/most of the above. Just layer up/layer down accordingly and you'll be able to dry off at the end of the day or cool down with beverages thoughout the day. Whatever the weather you'll have a blast.

In April? Everything is possible! Pack good rain gear and a warm jumper!
Buen Camino, SY

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Be ready for sun, be ready for rain. Temperatures might range from 5C to as high as 22C (roughly). I know this is vague, but realistically, there is no way to be sure what you will get until you get there.

Hi I walked this past April. Some days were very cold when I started out, 2 degrees C but I soon warmed up. A little rain and then one day for a short while some snow which melted straight away. You need a few layers and adjust them as you go. It is a great time for walking but the weather is really unpredictable. I did not have a poncho or Altus just a waterproof and windproof jacket which did keep the rain out. My pants got a little wet but they dried in no time at all. I was fortunate in that I did not walk in rain all day. All the best and buen camino.

I think you have all the answers you need here! Having lived in Spain for 8 years, we always considered April to be the wet month, but that was over on the north east coast. In Galicia, almost any month can be wet!
Whatever the weather, have a super time!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I was surprised when I did a search that nothing came up on the topic so here we go. Is it common in the albergues to have a few shelves of books free to take and exchange out ones you have?
