Good morning!

Myself and a friend are starting the Camino del Salvaldor this Sunday 23 April. Going from Leon to Oviedo in 5 days, and then after a rest day starting the Camino Primitivo on Saturday 29 April.

It will be great to get an update on the weather on both routes at the moment? Does anyone know whether there is still some snow on the mountains?

I'm busy packing, and trying to decide between sleeping bags of different warmth, amount of rain gear, etc etc.

Really appreciate any feedback!

Best way to find out current weather on the Salvador is to post a question on the Camino del Salvador facebook page. This is Ender's page, and you will get reliable information very quickly. https://www.facebook.com/caminodelsalvador/

I wouldn't worry about snow on the Primitivo, and I have heard that it's pretty much all melted on the Salvador too, but I would check it out.

I would definitely bring a sleeping bag, and depending on where you sleep, some places will be colder than others. If you are the first one in the room to put on a sweater in summer air conditioning, I'd go on the heavier side. If you are always sweating, go light, it is so much a personal thing with a lot of variation. Albergue in Pajares has heat, for instance, but I think the albergue in Poladura doesn´t have much if any (I slept in the Casa Rural and it was June, so that wasn't an issue for us, though).

Buen camino, this is such a beautiful route! Laurie

Hola, Jeleze,
@peregrina2000 without a doubt gave you the best way to Salvador weather conditions. For Primitivo you can try this link with villages/towns listed both in chronological and alphabetical order:

Buen Camino!
