New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Hi!

I strongly recommend Residencia Agora. It's the students' residence at the university of Barcelona.
It's bright, roomy, clean, quiet, with a friendly welcome, a short walk to the metro and right on the camino.

I just spent two nights there with my family. 134 euros for four persons for two nights(4 single beds), breakfast included (buffet style with an impressive array of hot and cold food for all tastes).
Average cost: 17 Euros per person per night with breakfast. Best deal in Barcelona, bar none.

I booked through Booking.com since it gives you free cancellation up to the previous day of arrival.
Hurry, they go fast.

Once you hit the road, plan to stay at the Monastery in Monserrat. Free accommodation for pilgrims.

Have a good one,
Jean-Marc

When I was in Barcelona I just looked at signs above the sidewalk that said "Habitacion" and found a place for the two of us for under $50 per night.

There are also many very inexpensive backpackers hostels there.
Try this website: http://www.hihostels.com/
Be sure to ask if you'll need a hosteling card. If so, they are very inexpensive.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
My old time favourite is Hostal Orleans, close to estacion de Franca and metrostation Barceloneta.
60 € for a triple room, very basic but aso very clean and 24 hours reception and this is a great thing and adds to the safety of the place. No breakfast but the El Born neighbourhood is full of lovely breakfast places, one around the corner is called " El Born ".

Really can recommend it!

I stayed in Barcelona for a week after my Camino last May. DO NOT stay at the HI Hostel near Parc Guell. It is not near anything and they charge 27Euro/night for a dorm room WITH a Hostelling International card. There were also lots of groups of young children staying there, though they did a good job of keeping those groups away from the backpackers. I stayed there for two nights before I could find a much more suitable place.

I stayed at Pension Palacio, http://www.pensionpalacio.com/indexing.htm and had my own room with a shared bathroom. They have free internet access, but do not allow cooking or doing your own laundry (they will do it for a price). They are close to Las Ramblas, Barrio Gotic, and the waterfront area. There are lots of great little restaurants in the Barrio Gotic area. They are also within walking distance of the Metro. Their prices are reasonable and vary depending on time of year and what kind of room you want. Hope that helps!

I’ve been with my family recently in Barcelona, and I really recommend the city for a short break… Barcelona has amazing urban beaches and plenty of cultural, artistic and gastronomical offer.
The hotel Via Augusta is a good place I recently discovered. It's very comfortable and pleasant and the prices are really interesting.
