Hi. To any who have walk one of the routes in France: which is the best if I I have no knowledge of French? Is Lourdes doable? Thank you frank

Join our full-service guided tour of the Basque Country and let us pamper you!
Yes, it is doable with ease. However, please do pick up a little French phrase book to learn a few words. The French are wonderful people and often quite shy when it comes to speaking English. They are also gratified when visitors to their country at least try to learn about their language and culture.

You will love it. Please feel confident that you can do it. Bon chemin

You will struggle anywhere in France without a basic knowledge of French, more so in rural areas (i.e. those crossed by pilgrim routes!)

I only speak schoolboy French (and you can't always find a schoolboy when you want one) but I managed fine on the Le Puy route, which is the most popular, although by no means crowded.

I had no problems without French on the LePuy Route.
There are many rural areas where you will not find many English speakers....but I never had any problems in finding a bed or food. You are recognized as a pilgrim and folks will go a bit extra to help you be understood.
There are usually English/French speaking pilgrims around to help in most cases.
I would not worry about language .....it is what make the adventure unique.
