Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Ok, now having dug into these forums I feel a fool and await the onslaught of 'why?' and 'dont use it! Stay a true pilgrim and dont even bring a watch!!'

Yeah whatever. I'd bring a winabago with satnav/satellite tv/power shower if I thought it would get up the noses of some of the 'true pilgrims' lol.

All tongue in cheek peeps!

A few albergues have wifi but not many. The albergue in Astorga that you reach at the top of the hill when you walk into the city had it last year when I was there, funded by the local authority. But you often find free wifi in restaurants and bars. Sometimes they advertise it on the door, and you just have to ask for the code; and sometimes when you ask if they have it they will give you a code.

If you're device can handle it you're likely best off getting a Spanish SIM card. Glancing at the Vodafone website they have an offer for about €15. 1GB of data. Plus 60min voice and SMS.

For a month I'm guessing that would be enough for the average person. It's not like emails are that big.

The 3 private albergues I stayed in Galicia in towns/large villages last year had Wifi available, slow speeds but perfectly aok for e-mails but the 2 very rural ones did not but as mentioned earlier many of the bars/cafes en route also had Wifi so I just had my sit down lunch in one of these most days so as not to abuse the hospitality when I asked them about Wifi.

Buen camino

Some do, but they more often have internet facility. Bars and restaurants advertise WiFi (weefee in Spanish) to attract customers. They will freely give the access code if you patronise them.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Hi craig,

Congratulations on your forthcoming camino. As the spanish saying goes, que tengas un buen camino.

As mentioned before by the veteran peregrinos, cafes and bars on the camino frances normally have free wifi facilities. However on the via de la plata, not many have wifi facilities. But you can go the the public library and avail of the free wifi and internet facilities. In some small towns, you may ask to use their facility at the ayuntamiento (town hall).
