Winter Storms Approaching France - Snow and Strong Wind in 22 Departements

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
A selection of Camino Jewellery
I'm in Carrion de los Condes just now. Strong crosswinds today made a short 19km day very appealing! The weather forecast here is predicting snow for the next couple of days. It's going to be chilly! A local friend has offered to put me up for a couple of days until the worst of the cold spell passes. Very generous. But I'll decide whether walking makes sense on a day-to-day basis.

I was just doing a short hike early afternoon. Impossible to see a couple of kilometres. High winds and bouts of rain followed me All the way. The wind was literally blowing through my gloves, but it could have been worse.

Am checking new clothes and accessories. Looks like I may be changing my original packing list of things to take on the first stage of the hike to Pamplona from Auch.
Snow is forecast on Thursday and Friday with temperatures -5C here in the plains.

The weather situation is not fantastic. It is as follows. Rain tomorrow and snow above 800 meters. Rain on Wednesday, Thursday with possibly snow on Monday. No end in sight at the moment, but never fear, it could be worse. We do expect flooding in what is called the "Piemontais Pyrenees", so if you are on the road, just be careful.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
