Walked back from Santa Maria del Sar to the market, those in the know know that there is a restaurate there which will cook whatever spiny monster of the deep you choose for only 4€. Market price freshest of the freshest. Picked out some shrimp and some clams when I met Hans, a pastor/priest from Holland who had walked with me for a day or two. He was admiring a lobster but could not allow himself such an extravagance . "Let's go half and half on the shrimps the clams and the lobster" I offered. Such a delicious temptation could not be refused + the Godello wine? I am very glad that The Day of Attonement is behind me!

Thanks for the heads up on the market restaurant. Will have to visit when I next make it to Santiago.

No name that I could see. Have been here before located in first hall of the market from the NorthEast big sign you buy and we cook in Spanish and English. Open only market hours meaning closed evenings , Sunday, and Monday. They know their business!

Not knowing a name either, just an approximate location: Near the Mercado de Abastos is the Church Jesuit Church of St. Augustin and there in the same little place is a restaurant that offers this service. @JohnnieWalker might know its name ;-) Buen Camino, SY

Is there a list of albergues that also have private rooms on the Camino Frances? Gracias.
Hi everyone -- After walking the Frances from SJpdP last October, I'm planning to revisit the bit between Logrono and Burgos this July, following different stages. It's the section where I had...
I started out from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on 1 May. It turned out to be an unforgetable day. Above 1,000 m or so it snowed, catching many people unprepared. Later that day "many" walkers were...
And another attempt looms, to buy a decent Poncho after trying and failing in the previous two likely towns. Anyone know where an Altos or similar might be bought in Leon, please? 😁
