Pre-Camino injury

Time of past OR future Camino
CF 2022
I was supposed to start in SJPP on May 28. But, last week on an 11-mile hike, I tripped over a root and did a face-plant on the trail. No major injury to my face, other than a lump and some bruising. But I also broke a rib cartilage and bruised other ribs. It will take 2-3 months to heal, so I have to postpone my Camino. This is very disappointing, as I also, like many others, had to cancel in 2020 and 2021, due to COVID restrictions.

I'm trying to look on the bright side. I can now work on some winter projects, involving lots of computer time. And I can still walk, as long as I stay on smooth surfaces that don't require the use of trekking poles. We have a great paved rail-trail right next to my house, so I am indeed fortunate. I am starting to plan for a late August start on the Camino. Planning is half the fun, anyway!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

If at first you don’t succeed try try again.

The camino isn’t going anywhere.

Buen camino.

Wish you health! Agree with you about planning, I like being excited before something important in my life. These are specail moments when you feel alive... so precious. I am sure that your Camino is going to be fantastic!

Whenever I get there, that is. Since my last post, I contracted COVID. Took Paxlovid and felt better, then rebounded. I'm just getting my energy back and not yet ready for a long walk, so I'm planning for May, 2023. By now, I'm really good at the planning part!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
