Time of past OR future Camino
I will be doing the Camino Frances starting early September 2014
I will be walking the Camino Frances during the month of September 2014.
What is the weather like in September?

Since it is my first time, any advice is welcome!

Any "not to miss place" to visit?

Any albergue to stay away from?

Thank you

I think all of your questions are asked and answered often and a search (at the top of the page) will greatly help but... be prepared for very cold (not freezing) nights, particularly in the mountains, and blistering hot days walking on the meseta (although I heard that this year has not been as hot as normal). Being able to layer from shorts/t-shirt to rain pants / fleece / jacket helps.

Michael I see that you have made a lot of posts and seem to know a lot about the Caminio. I am also starting the Caminio 2nd week of September in SJPDP. I have time to do two sections. After completing first section at Pamplona or after Puente La Reina, I will be transferring from there to Lugo or Sarria for last section to Santiago. Do you have any idea the best way to get there train or bus? Any suggestions helpful. Thx

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
not that many posts and not close to knowing a lot about the camino but check out this site: http://www.rome2rio.com/ . It tells you the easiest ways to get from one place to another. They can also direct you to the sites to buy tickets or find out where to get tickets. for example http://www.rome2rio.com/s/Puente-la-Reina-Spain/Sarria

After completing first section at Pamplona or after Puente La Reina, I will be transferring from there to Lugo or Sarria for last section to Santiago.
From Puente la Reina you will need to return to Pamplona to find convenient transportation to Lugo/Sarria, so finishing your first section at Pamplona will make getting to the second section easier. Buses and trains can get you from Pamplona to Sarria. Look at alsa.es and renfe.es for timetables.

Buen camino!

If you have decided to go to Puuenta la Reina to pass over the Alto del Perdon you can get buses back to Paloma. Look at www.laestellesa.com but I think these are the times:-

Thank you!! This is very helpful. I haven't decided what to do yet. I will go with the flow and see where it leads me. :)

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
