After a Gallipoli Pilgrimage ,on to Leon to start the Camino

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
After joining 10,000 Aussies and Kiwis honouring our troops in WW1 at Gallipoli in Turkey I start the Camino from Leon to Santiago on May 1st.

Very cool. Most of my father's, father's family died @ Gallipoli (Scottish). I won't be in Turkey but in early May I am heading to Belgium to check out Ypres, Amiens and the like then will be doing the Camino from SJPdP starting Mid-May. :)

Buen Camino!

My son and I will be wearing our Camino Buffs at Gallipoli on the 24/25th and I will have a little shell on my pack - maybe we will bump into each other. My grandfather and great-grandfather enlisted together in Adelaide on the 26th September 1914 and both survived Gallipoli and France.

I'll look out for you at Anzac Cove,I'm in the Nz ballot, presume you are in the Aussie ballot. It is going to be an amazing and very emotional time.My grandfather was in the Hawkes Bay Company of the Wellington Infantry. He was invalided out in August , a medical board in Nz in 1916 said the cause of his illness was 100+ days at Gallipoli.
