Hi Lydia

first thing to do is not panic(if your feeling this way)
inform the albergue of this straight away...and follow there advice .

if itching visit pharmacy for treatment

apparently there is a dry cleaners and laundry in Plaza espana in Burgos to wash your clothes

Bummer! I am so sorry to hear you have a bedbug problem Lydia. I actually had bedbugs in the same city:) The pests are hiding in your backpack, most likely in your sleeping bag. Bed bugs are very sensitive to heat so do your best to find a washer with hot water, a hot dryer and go to work. Wash everything in hot water (including the inside of your pack), then dry everything in the hot dryer. I used a hair dryer on the inside of my pack as an extra gotcha, to scorch the tiny bugs which are nearly impossible to see. You can also go into the pharmacy and get some powerful bug spray to apply to your sleeping mat every night. I think this is more for piece of mind though and may be just as effective as mosquito spray is for keeping away a mosquito.

But my method worked for me and I got rid of them so I hope you can too:) I am sure others have great ideas too. Good luck!

Some resources I found useful when I got bed bugs:
Web MD: http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/guide/bedbugs-infestation
Texas A&M Insects In the City page: http://citybugs.tamu.edu/?s=bed+bugs
