Time of past OR future Camino

I will be flying into Biarritz in late August to begin my walk to Santiago. Would like to purchase my trekking poles and a swiss army knife in Bairritz or St. Jean before I leave. This would get me around the security issues at the airport(s). Does anybody know if there is an outdoor store in one of these places where these items can be purchased? Thanks in advance.... :)

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
There is a great outdoor store in SJPP right across the street from the Pilgrim Office.
You can find knives there as well as at the hardward store (ferreteria)

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
As a Scot and English-speaker I think that "ferreteria" is my favourite word in Spanish. Conjures up some wonderful but sadly inaccurate mental images that have nothing to do with hardware... :)

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Oh, I thought a hardware store was a bricolage - is that different?

Quincaillerie is an older kind: the store where you can buy everything what is required to run your household.
From hammers to pots, going through spoons, coffee machines and even barbel wire, screws and Co.
In one word it's the Ali Baba cave of every boy leaving country side:p:)
Bricolage is a much more modern concept: it's a super market for do it yourself activities...

I remember a certain Quincaillerie in France where I was able to buy one individual teaspoon. I love these places, we still have some left here in my country. Most of the time the owners are people of a certain age with lots of knowledge about the products they sell.
They don't do the " fancy " brands but go for the well trusted old models.

Going to the " Brico " is a concept here on saturday for your ( well not mine ;)) DIY material.
