Hi, could anyone tell me if it is possible to book a taxi in advance via a website. 6 of us with backpacks and one bike want travel from our hotel in Estella to SJPDP early on a Sunday morning in May and would like to get it sorted before we arrive. Thanks for your help.

Hi Sukydee! Welcome to the forum! I wish you a pleasant and fruitful stay among us.

No personal experience but for taxis out of Estella you can take a look at:

www.taxiestella.com (web just in Spanish)

and/or

www.estellataxi.es (web mostly in Spanish with some info in English)

and/or

www.taxi-estella.com (web in Spanish, English or French, pick your choice)

and/or

www.taxienestella.com (web in Spanish)

It might be other taxis available in Estella too. All the quoted webs offer contact details (mobile phone, email address to get info and, all except one, an online form to ask for info).

Thanks. That's great.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Sukydee - with 6 of you plus backpacks and bike I suggest you will need some sort of mini-van or mini-bus. No personal knowledge but Estella did look large enough to have something similar. Otherwise check out whats available in Pamplona (given its just over 40 km ) this might be a better option. Cheers

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Just in case anyone else needs the info. We used www.taxi-estella.com. I don't speak Spanish but we managed to communicate via email & online translators. The plan worked perfectly. We met Jose in Estella at 8am on Sunday morning and loaded the bike onto his Mercedes tow-bar bike rack. We parked our van in his secure garage and he drove us to SJPDP. He charged 180 euros for the taxi (Sunday rates) and 30 euros for the parking. We met up a week later and collected the van. Very pleased with the service.

I guess this has to be one of the Stafford six group including Martin - or am I wrong :) It was really nice meeting you on the Camino!

Yes, that's us! I was the team leader, responsible for getting us there. I thought I was on a walk not a bike-push. Good to meet you too.
