Hi. I have searched the forum for info regarding March beginnings but all seem to start in SJPP.
My husband & I set out to walk the Camino in April 2016. Unfortunately when we arrived in Burgos, we received bad news and had to rush home to Australia.
We are arriving back in Burgos on March 23 2017 to hopefully finish what we started.
I hadn't thought about the prospect of albergues not being opened yet.
Would love to hear experiences (accom & weather) from anyone who walked at that time. Thanks

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Burgos will be a wonderful place to restart your Camino. I loved the span from there to SDC.

I have not walked in March but rather May and then June. Fair weather.

Buen Camino.

Hello! Chiming in on this thread, as I will be arriving in Burgos on 3 March. I'm a sole female traveller, and this is my first Camino. Can someone please provide me with a recommendation of which of the open albergues I'm most likely to meet pilgrims in? Should I stay at the Albergue Municipal de Burgos? Also, I'm super disorganised and don't have my Pilgrim's passport, but I understand I should be able to pick one up at this particular Albergue, is that right? Many thanks in advance!

Sumin,

Lucky you to be starting in a few days!

The municipal albergue in Burgos is a great place to meet other pilgrims. It is also close to the cathedral and near many small shops and restos. You can, indeed, obtain a Credential or Pilgrim Passport at the albergue.

Enjoy your journey and Buen camino!

When you visit the cathedral do also stop at the museum where my favorite is a pilgrim figure of St. James from the mid 15th century. Standing roughly half a meter tall in gold plate on silver James wears a pilgrim hat complete with iconic shell atop his delightfully precise curls. ( Sainthood is depicted by the flat halo behind his head. ) He grips his pilgrim staff and from one shoulder hangs a tiny traveling bag known as a scrip also decorated with three additional shells. ...Enjoy your visit.
