Helloo,

I am on my way to start the CF from sjpdp on Monday. I spent a lot of time researching trainers to hike in and bought some a couple of days ago. Unfortunately even with all the research I managed to buy some just a fraction too small 🤔😭 They are literally two days old so great condition. Please see the photos.

If anyone is interested in trying and negotiating a worthwhile discount let me know. They are called Hoka One One Bondi and are 44.2/3 euro size or uk size 10. I am normally a uk size 9.5 and they are almost perfect so if you are around uk size 9 it could work.

They are high end ultra marathon running shoes. Cushioning is their unique design benefit along with a rocking design for efficiency. Perfect for the hard camino roads and durable enough for the paths.

Anyway my plan is to sell these and buy a bigger version of the same shoe.

Buen Camino 🙂
David

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

If you bought from Hoka, you can return them.

For those in the US who might be interested, the UK size '10' equal the US size of '11'. So if any Americans are interested, perhaps a meetup in SJPdP? The Bondi is a good shoe for Camino walking :)

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Yes, way top small. I wear a 6 in U.S. I wear 7.5 Hoka.

As it happens I've started the camino wearing my bondi's I was confussed about my sizing issues but may have got the bottom of it. I went to a specialist running shop in Biarritz and realised its a combination of two things. 1) I have a toe condition that makes my big right one go slightly away from my other toes (halux varus) so I need a shoe that doesn't allow it to go too far away! 2) the bondi design where my feet sink below the top of the sole created a painful edge as it curved inwards slightly too much so my big toe sat on top of it. Realising this helped me come up with the solution to physically push the edge of the bondi soles outwards with my hands and also wear plasters in that place. A long way to go and its not ideal but but so far so good!
