New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Did you mean to say 2022? You did not ention your starting point. Make sure you have reservations for the week before Easter,

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Yes. 2022. Thanks for the tip about Easter! We'll have to figure out where we'll be at that time. We are leaving from SJPP.
Just make sure you understand that the pass over the Pyrenees won't be open until the end of April so you will need to go via the other route past Valcarlos.

I thought the pass opened April 1? Was reading various posts. Weather permitting, of course.
You are correct. Opens April 1st weather permitting. In 2018, it was closed due to conditions on April 13th so every year will be different I would presume.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

The pass is closed until March 31 every year. It will open on or after April 1, when the conditions are safe.
That link doesn't work I'm afraid as I was going to add my own plans.
The link should be fixed now. The April thread is here.

It may be scheduled to open but it depends on a day by day situation the pilgrim office will advice, 2018 it was still snowing in Galicia on April 25th.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Yes, the pass opens April 1st, but can be closed in case of heavy snowfall; in that case you will have to take the Valcarlos route. The volunteers at the Pilgrims Office in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port will give you an adequate advice.
I will be happy to welcome you at Roncesvalles, will be working there as a hospitalera as from April 1st.

Ianinam: Hope to see you April 5th. My daughter Abigail and I should arrive on this date. Our plan is to follow the Napoleon route if conditions are good. Cheers.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I would like to correct are starting dates. We arrive Madrid March 31, 2022. Plan to start from SJPP on April 2. Thank you and apologies for all the changes.
The change has been made. However, people should make their requests directly on the relevant thread - we are not generally picking up comments and plans from the forum-at-large.
