From all I have been reading on Ivar many people are going to Bookings.com the moment they get into town to make a reservation for the next day of the journey. My question is can this be done with Albuergues and Pensiones or is this for hotels and B &B’s only? Any other sites besides Bookings.com?

Gracias Peregrinos

A selection of Camino Jewellery
It can be done for some private albergues and pensiones, not all of them.
Besides Booking.com I like to use Agoda.com because it gives points to my airline loyalty program. Lots of people like Expedia.com as well.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I didn't book many alburgues ahead after my first week last September and I didn't have any problems. Many other people I met were the same. Of course some people like the comfort of precooked accommodate, but they miss out on some of the many wonderful alburgues that don't take bookings.

There gets to be a frenzy in the afternoons when folks start booking their rooms for the next day. We only booked ahead one time, and that was because we knew were getting in late, and had a specific Albergue we wanted to stay at. If you are finishing up by 3-4 in the afternoon, you should not have any problems finding a place to stay. I suggest booking Orisson, and Roncevalles, and after that, if you stay a little 'off' the brierly guide stages to avoid crowds, you will find it much more relaxing to choose when you want to stop at the end of the day rather than just walking to the town you made reservations at. It is much more freeing. You will always have the choice to book if you find that waiting to see what is available does not work for you. We noticed folks who insisted on booking ahead were much more anxious than those who let the day unfold as they went. Just one woman's opinion :)

There is an app called Eroski and you get details of all the albergues with telephone numbers so you can call and book ahead. I used it on the Norte so I could ship my backpack to them. It covers 12 Caminos

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Booking.com is often cheaper than other hotel comparison sites. I'd certainly book more if I could just to ease the bed rush that's becoming the norm on the CF.
