Dear Kitsambler, thank you so much for your input! I really appreciate it! Yes, competitive athletics, daily exercise, trim, lean, muscular, and yes I have gone for 10 miles regularly with ease.
Hi, yes I do know there is a Visa limit. I do think I can take less time to do this than the above schedule.
Also whariwharangi thank you so much for your response, but that wasn't an answer to my question. Given my age/fitness, I think I can get it done in 80-84 days - ahead of the schedule...
*I posted this under Alternative Routes but I am not sure which is the best place for this question... so I'm reposting here... I hope I'm not offending anyone with the double post!*

Hi everyone!
Does this schedule seem reasonable to you based on your experience? I am in my mid-20s and quite fit but I just don't want to be a crazy lady and squash too much in per day.
Via Gebenennsis (Geneva to Le Puy-en-Velay): 18 days
Via Podiensis (Le Puy-en-Velay to St Jean...
Dear Ger,
Sure, I'll send you a PM! That is the same way I plan to walk as well starting in May, with some detours.
Dear Kitsambler,
Sure, I'll keep you posted.
Best wishes,
Sylvia
Thanks for sharing your experiences! This helps me feel better about my walking on this route. I must overcome this fear and go for it.
Buen Camino,
Sylvia
I read on this forum that the Rocamadour detour takes more time than the Cele detour. I also read that the Cele detour is beautiful but so is the town of Rocamadour.
So.... has anyone been on both or at least one to give comment? Pros/Cons?
Thank you for your input!
Dear Kitsambler,
Thank you so much, that was helpful. There will always be tradeoffs, I suppose. I am currently planning to walk alone, so yes, my concerns are for assault and terrain-associated injury. I don't know much about Swiss hiking trails, so I don't know if these types of safety...
Hi,
I'm new. I'm Sylvia, from the USA, hiking the Camino for the first time.
Anyone else planning to be around? I'll be on the lookout.
May 2013: Constance - Geneva [Switzerland, Via Jacobi]
June 2013: Geneva - Le Puy (taking detour of either Rocamadour or Cele, haven't decided which one)...
Dear all,
Hi, do you guys know the safety of walking from Constance - Interlaken - Geneva - Le Puy? I would be starting in early May 2013, so this leg would take until the end of June 2013. I do plan to continue on from Le Puy to Santiago de Compostela.
I really want to do part of the...
Hi,
Just wondering if you guys were aware of any great Swiss-German and French language tools? I'm trying to learn as much as possible now. And I am in pursuit of a good starting point! :)
Best,
Sylvia
Hello everyone! Greetings from the East Coast, USA!
My name is Sylvia. I am seriously considering walking the Camino beginning in May.
It would be my first Camino, and I'm a bit nervous.
I'm excited to hear all your tips and advice. That will factor into where exactly I begin the walk...
