I´m starting from Pamplona on April 16th. Planning to take it slow as I didn´t finish my last Camino (Inglês) due to hip problems. More of a meander and wander this time rather than Santiago or bust!
Welcome to the forum Kari...about time too! Just in case anyone thinks I´m being rude to a new member, Kari and I are old Camino buddies, we have done 3 together (so far!).

Hello fellow pilgrims!
I've finally stopped dithering and bought my plane ticket to Madrid. I should be arriving in Seville on the 9th of April and start walking the Via de la Plata on the 10th. This will be my 3rd Camino, the other two were on the Frances. I'm going with a friend, we walk well...
I beg to differ with regard to the necessity for a sleeping bag. I've taken mine with me on two Caminos (May/June) and used it every night. On the warmer nights I didn't zip it up, thus keeping cooler when the need arose. The trouble with blankets in most albergues is that they don't get washed...
From one Englishwoman to another...
I walked alone from Roncesvalles in 2009 without any problems or hassle, and made a lot of friends. So long as you use commonsense you´ll be fine. Have a wonderful Camino!

Hola fellow pilgrims,
I´m planning to do the Via de la Plata starting early April 2012. I finished my second Camino Frances in June this year and want to try a different route, hopefully quieter. I´m telling the family this is my last Camino so I want to make it a "biggie" ...although who knows...
Hi All,
I´ve just bought my ticket and am getting really excited about my second Camino. I am doing the Camino Frances again, starting in Pamplona this time, on May 10th. I am in my 60´s and usually walk solo, so to any apprehensive first-timers I would just like to say "don´t worry, and pack...
Just a word of caution...you may not hear cyclists coming up behind you on the Camino. They usually signal their presence by ringing a bell or calling out "Bon Camino'. I would suggest you try and keep over more to the side when walking. I hope you have a great Camino.

There is a Brazilian Camino de Santiago association which you might find useful. They are very friendly and helpful and you can get your credencial from them - acacs-sp@santiago.org.br
Bom Caminho!

I'm in my 60's and unfit, so I did a 16-week training programme of exercises and walking with a gradual build-up to 8 hours of walking with a full pack by the end. I find exercises very boring but forced myself to do it and I think it payed off. I walked from Roncesvalles to Santiago in 35 days...
Hello Karin
I´m 62, also walking alone May/June. From everything I´ve heard and read it is safe to walk alone provided you take sensible precautions. I believe there are many women around our ages who walk alone.
Sandra
Seems that there are several of us solo females starting the Camino early May. I´m walking alone also, but not concerned about it - I live in São Paulo, Brazil, ´nuff said. It will be great fun if our paths cross from time to time. I´m leaving from Roncesvalles probably around the middle of the...
