Landing in Madrid on May 30th 2017 to walk the Camino Frances!
Hello everyone,

I'm planning to walk my first Camino Santiago at the end of May or Beginning of June. I've been researching and ordered my guide book. I'm pretty excited. But I'm looking for information on where I should fly into.
What is the weather like during June and I'm guessing that is the busy time for the camino?

Any information, links or tips would be great!

Where are you flying from and where would you like to start your Camino?
Are you planning on walking the Camino Francés (which is the one most people think of as "the Camino")?

People who have only flown into Madrid to get to SJPP will tell you that Madrid is the only way to go. People who have only flown into Paris to get to SJPP will tell you that Paris the only way to go. I've flown into both to get to SJPP. I much greatly prefer making my way to SJPP from Paris. The reality is that neither way is quick and easy, but going through Paris takes less total time in transit. This is especially true if you are flying from Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York, or Boston to Europe. Less true if you are flying from Miami, Houston or Atlanta.
