A new french film about El Camino.....PEREGRINOS-PILGRIMS

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Javier

If your French is better than your Spanish (not you Javier !!), you may prefer the French version called "Saint Jacques ... La Mecque". I have it on DVD, but be warned - there are no subtitles, French or English.

It's a film about the trials and tribulations on the Camino, starting at Le Puy, and ending at Santiago (St Jacques in French), and shows how the relationship between people develops over time - how the Camino changes people's attitudes. La Mecque means Mecca both in the place and in the figurative sense.

Quite cheap at the moment at Amazon.fr (€3.49 at time of writing) - a lot cheaper than when I bought it in late 2006!!

And carriage from Amazon France to the UK has changed recently and is very efficient (€7.11 for 1 DVD and €1.80 for each additional). Can't say about our cousins down under !!

Enjoy
Mike

I'm confused.
are both these films "St Jacques... la Mecque" and "Peregrinos" the same film? (looks like it is)
One was 2006 and the other seems to be released this August?

Mermaidlilli, $90 at Amazon for the version with subtitles, thats a bit much isn't it? I wonder if its a misprint.

I saw the film last week at the movies in Callao in Madrid. It was cute...and a little sad at the end. There were definitely parts to which every Pilgrim can relate - but it was a rather disappointing that so much of the film was in France (very pretty scenery) and it seemed that 3 days after arriving in Roncesvalles they arrived in Santiago! It was fun to watch - and I went with 2 Spanish pilgrims whom I met on the Camino. Since we had just finished walking the week before, it was even more fun!
Buen Camino,

...Just came from the cinema where I saw "Peregrinos" - in French of course and spanish subtitles... - since my french is not so good (Zero) and I had to read the subtitles in a language I am still learning, I might have "missed" a little... However I think it is a fun movie... It especially the Spanish part brings back memories.

I would have loved more of it to take place in Spain (but of course since the movie is French... it mostly takes part in France...).

I would recommend seeing it... It has is VERY good moments... but also very unrealistic moments... - But they are all peregrinos...

Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
If you’re walking the Camino Portugues right now I’d recommend you avoid the complementario route into Pontevedra. While it is quiet and green and follows the river, it’s also a muddy mess. I...
