Hoping to start the VDLP around April 20th and wondering what accommodation situation will be in Seville at that time. Will the festival still be on? What do past pilgrims recommend interns of accommodation for a few nights before setting off?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Please excuse typo - meant to be in terms....

Hi Jan
Last year in April I stayed at Hotel Simon ,not too expensive and just around the corner from the Cathedral . Some folk stay at Triana Backpackers . I also got my credencial at the hotel. They booked ahead Bar Francis in Guillena for my first night. Plenty of arrows on the VDLP and hopefully you won't have the extremely cold weather we had..

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thanks Heather - I walked the Camino Frances same time last year and it too was wet and freezing! Hoping for improved conditions in 2013.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
It depends on your price bracket. I looked at hotel Simon and it is highly recommended. If you want budget accomodation, Try Triana Backpackers, or Cathedral, or go to http://www.hostels.com for all backpacker accomodation. I will be staying at Triana because many start their VDLP Camino there, and also it is near the office of Los Amigos del Camino de Santiago de Sevilla, who maintain the waymarks, have the latest info and sell their English language guidebook on the VDLP. If you wish to visit their offices, they have limited opening hours and their address has changed. Go to www. viaplata.org for details. I will be starting approx 9 April. David

Stayed at Triana Backpackers (over the bridge into Triana) and was very pleased with the hostel - clean, free internet and breakfast. Paid 12 euros including credencial. Airco too which for me in July was pleasant. Had a room to myself.

FYI The municipal albergue in Guillena was in 2011 renovated which is a GREAT improvement and you are lucky as the newly renovated albergue in Castilblanco will be also be open (due to open end Feb).

Enjoy!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The Simon gets my vote as well - a very handsome town house with an attractive central courtyard. For something slap in the middle of the city, it's also remarkably quiet as well.

Although the Easter festivities will be over by the time you get there, if you are staying at the Simon it would still be a good idea to book now, as it fills up quickly.

Seville is a fantastic pace and well worth spending a few days before starting walking - I think the Alcazar is even more beautiful than the Alhambra.

Thanks pilgrims - Hotel Simon already full due to the festival that is on that particular week. Also, prices are at a premium! Really want my own room to recover from long haul flights so might have to just take pot luck wherever a room is available. Do want two nights there before beginning the walk...

Thanks Donovan - might give that one a go!
