I'm wondering if there is a need to book one night's accommodation in SJPDP ahead of time. I start walking mid-June.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
What time do you arrive in St Jean? If it’s late at night, I do book ahead. Otherwise, I think the pilgrims’ office will find you a bed. Others may think differently (I have only been there in July, don’t know about June).

Perhaps this will help.

In SJPdP the Pilgrim Office is located on the camino at 39 rue de La Citadelle.

The office is open every day and in season from early in the morning until late at night ie after the arrival of the last bus/train. The helpful multi-lingual volunteers can provide you with a Credential and stamp if needed, as well as a list of major albergues and current weather/ trail conditions. They can also help locate a bed/bunk for the night. Most importantly the office is a great spot to meet/ greet other pilgrims. ...Do plan to stop and chat!

Just because it is such a special place and experience I would recommend on this first night booking ahead in Beilari. It is a unique gateway to the Camino experience. I found it really unforgettable and important.
Stayed there in 2014. Had a wonderful experience and a great dinner. I am still friends with a Pilgrim I met there! Great choice.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
