Time of past OR future Camino

Hi everyone, I'm starting the last part of the French Camino with my 75 year old father tomorrow. We're walking about 12 km per day. We will probably leave Salceda on day 3 and it looks like Lavacolla has the next closest accomodation. This may be too much of a stretch for us. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
You can also taxi back and forth, cutting a stage in two, while still walking all the way: book for two night, in the morning leave your bag and walk until X, take a taxi back. The next morning grab your bags, call a taxi and have it drop you off where you finished the day before and walk to the end of the etapa.

There is a heat wave in Spain at the moment. Please make sure your dad stays well hydrated, perhaps add electrolytes.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.

That's a very good idea, never thought of that. Sounds like taxis are easy to get. Good advice about heat too, he is an experienced hiker but has a few stents in his heart. The Camino has been a life times ambition of his so I'm so delighted to be walking it together. Thank you

... Unfortunately the one hotel along that stretch is booked out. ...

Have you tried the hotel directly or booking.com? Often there is still a room at the inn when booking.com claims that there is none ... Buen Camino, SY

Thanks. That's a great table to have. Unfortunately the one hotel along that stretch is booked out. Thanks for replying so promptly

@Sorcs there are quite a few small hotels and pensions in Pedrouzo, between Salceda and Lavacolla. That would be a good intermediate stop - I walked with my mother last year and we stayed in Salceda and then Pedrouzo, then Lavacolla - short days but all we could manage at that point! There are details here: http://www.gronze.com/etapa/arzua/pedrouzo-pino (some are on Booking.com but don't give that site all of their rooms, so it's definitely worth calling places direct (or emailing if they have email or a website). We stayed at Pension Platas which was fine.

Thanks, I was hoping to do more than 8kms but if it's extremely hot, that might suit us well. Good to get a recommendation
