Rickman and group by samoht.w posted Jan 14, 2016 at 8:42

Is it REALLY Alan Rickman or is it just a guess? Because there is a question mark at the end of the original post, so I thought maybe it was just someone similar... Did you have to chance to talk to him, samoht.w?
It is even hard for me to imagine such a famous person walking Camino Frances near O Cebreiro just like that, unless doing it incognito.
R.I.P., Mr. Rickman. It would be an inspiration to many, if he in fact walked the Camino. He was a fabulous personality.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Alan Rickman.jpg I spent the night at the German Albergue at La Faba along with the subject gentleman and about 25 others. He had an English accent and was quite reserved. At one point in evening's conversation I mentioned Hans Gruber and he laughed. That was as close as I got to directly asking him if he was Mr Rickman. Respecting his privacy at the time I pretty much kept my curiosity to myself. It was a grand night at La Faba. We had three people playing the guitar, one of whom was a Korean Classical Guitar instructor and another was a guy who knew virtually all the Beatles songs. We all sang Beatles songs for hours over several bottles of Vino Tinto. Of note, the Albergue was the only one I stayed in this time on the Camino, that had window screens to keep insects out. The picture above was taken when I had just asked him about knowing Hans Gruber. This may not be Alan Rickman, but he could have acted as his double. I imagine that a number of famous people walk the Camino in a private way. Why not? Who was Hans Gruber? Hans Gruber was the character Rickman played on the Die Hard Film.

Hmmm. Rickman was filming in the US in September 2012, and media reports have him in London in October. But why not? Maybe he did escape for a few days on the Camino in between. Who wouldn't want to?!

I think, as you suggest, a lookalike rather than the man himself, but a lovely photo nonetheless.

Don't know the man... but I do know where the first two pictures were taken !!

That was my favorite Rickman movie. Man I'm going to miss seeing him in films.

Hi Max - that was my favourite Rickman movie too. One of the scenes from TMD is my all-time favourite movie scene - it's the scene where he and Nina (the wonderful Juliet Stevenson) are singing The Walker Brothers' song "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" - it was exceptional. Here's the link:

Cheers - Jenny

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
