Angels on the Camino

New Member
Hi, my name is David and I have recently completed my second Camino. Throughout this pilgrimage I have been instilled with the desire to write a small book on peoples experience on the various Camino's. I am looking for peoples stories to help me. I already have some and would appreciate hearing yours. Many thanks for reading this, I hope you will reply with your own experiences. Yours in Christ. David Bull

Hi David
We are currently doing the Camino Frances, today is 3 January 2015. I can only share our journey as far as Leon to date cos thats where we are at the moment. Angels on the Camino come in many forms... On our second night of our Camino we ended up in a very very small village called Lorca. We arrived there at night 7.30pm. It was dark, very cold and not a lot happening here. The Albergue was closed. We were exhausted after 30+ kms in the hot sun and now it was bitingly cold. This was going to be a long and challenging night! We had no choice but to lock up our bikes, make a bed in the Cathedral grounds and pray for morning to come quickly. Out came the sleeping bags, in we jumped clothes and all and rolled up to keep warm. Sleep did not come... but 2 ladies had seen us, and came over and spoke in Spanish to direct us to a safer and warmer place to sleep. We followed and made a bed for the night on a narrow wooden bench inside a foyer on the other side of the Cathedral, a lot warmer and safer here. About a half hour went by and the lady came back with a packet of biscuits and a bottle of warm cocoa, God bless her. We never knew her name, she never asked for anything, but she gave her time and effort with no request for repayment of any kind. We were visited by an Angel that night and we slept soundly and safely and in the morning we went on our way. So, yes there are Angels on the Camino, we know she took care of us in Lorca.
All the best David, yours in Christ
