Anybody know who these guys are?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

No magic, sorry; just the Tuna.

supposed university students (age sometimes doesn't match) that dress up in early 19th century garb, sport tights and play their music. they are somewhat of an institution in spain, have started to busker in tourist areas. they get mixed reactions amongst us locals.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I saw these guys in the streets of SDC two summers ago and I've always wondered Who they were and what they were singing about. Does anyone know? It was just more of the magic of SDC.
I think it's fabulous! Who could object to beautiful music like that?!

Yep, Tuna de Derecho de Santiago de Compostela. They have a very nice CD with their songs. There is something magical about crossing the Plaza after a wonderful Spanish dinner at Los Caracoles and hearing their music echo around you. Or, maybe it was just the Ula. And, as someone pointed out, I think the group itself has its roots in the Canary Islands.

They could be a "tuna" but they do not look like the group "Tuna de Derecho de Santiago de Compostela." They do not match the photos I have of that group. Nor are they playing under the arcade across from the cathedral.

I bought their CD.
No better souvenir than music. They bring back memories and entertain at the same time.
My current favourites are this one, one I bought in Nepal, and one from a Spanish guitar soloist playing outside the Prado in Madrid.

Gerard
I was in Italy a few years ago and there was a guitar player in Sorrento playing the guitar and singing beautiful music. I purchased his CD and had the bus driver play it while we traveled and continued on our tour, assuming it was Italian. Others on the bus loved it and wished they had known about this beautiful Italian CD...I learned a few days later the CD was in Russian! How embarrassing for me! Why didn't the Italian bus driver tell us it was not Italian! He must have been smirking to himself the whole time! 😛

The poster behind says that they are at Casa da Troia museum, Rua da Troia, 5.
I guess they are the Tuna Troyanos de Compostela ☺? Their outfit (see below) and flag/banner are the same as in the videoclip posted earlier in this thread. I’m pretty certain that it’s them.

Very good!!
But the guys are not the same. During the video (OP), I hear something like "viva Canarion". This and the fact that all songs are from the Canary Islands makes me think that all or part of them are from a tuna from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

I also bought their CD. They were a great finish for my camino. When I got to SdC, my emotions were so high, I couldn't get to sleep. Lucky I was walking the plaza at 2300.

I showed this to my mom and she said this has been a long standing tradition of Spain however she remembers these done in the middle of the night by much younger men, in university serenading young women.
She was the recipient of “rondallas and estudiantinas”, very fond memories!

Yes we heard them also in arcade across from Cathedral. Even better was a guy singing - I think at side of Cathedral as you come down the steps - called Jaime Rios B - bought his CD, he was just brilliant and the atmosphere after 10 at night, end of September, was just magic. He had a large audience, many of whom joined in singing with him....could have stayed there all night listening to him!
