Anyone Starting From Sarria In July?

Camino Frances (2015)
I'm a first timer and can only do the walk in July due to work and family restrictions. I wanted to go with a guided tour (yes I'm a wimp) but it seems the company I contacted doesn't have enough folks registering for a guided tour in July. Is it so hot that no one does July? Anyone here planning the last 100km in July?
I'm wondering if people often get lost or have not been able to find the yellow arrows?

Anxious to hear from folks...

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Save your money! No need for a guided tour in July on the Sarria to Santiago stretch. Get a guidebook, read it through, read this forum and if you still have specific questions post them here. We are always happy to help! Buen Camino! SY

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Hi, do the walk from Sarria yourself no guided tour, safe your money and follow the arrows .It's hard to get lost with so many people.

Thank you folks...I'm excited!!! I just hope I can drag myself through those 3 days with 23kms each (I planned my travels as per what the guided tour had promised...so I have to do it as per their schedule now otherwise I won't get to make my dates and bookings :)

Oh well...

Ohhhkaaay, Sarria to Santiago is around 120km, not 3 times 23km which would be 69km. There is no reason to adhere to their stages, just walk your own way. Buen Camino! SY

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

 What!!! :) Just kidding...sorry I was referring to the itinerary the tour company recommended for the self guided tour. I decided to do exactly that since I would much rather go for popular options rather than experiment with something I don't know in a new place.

I was just talking about 3 of the 7 days:

1 Sarria to Portomarín - 22km
2 Portomarín to Palas de Rei - 22km
3 Palas de Rei to Melide - 15km
4 Melide to Arzúa - 13 km
5 Arzúa to Amenal - 23km
6 Amenal to Santiago de Compostela - 14km

Are these the stops most people make? I'm not in super duper good shape but still hoping I'll be able to make these. A 10k walk takes me 2 hours.

The biggest advantage of the Sarria to Santiago stretch is the huge number of albergues! You can decide spontaneously if you want/can walk a few km more and where to stay. In general people tend to stay at the more popular spots / Brierley stages and the small albergues in between can be much quieter. Buen Camino! SY

Thank you everyone for your valuable input. I don't know why I was attracted to doing this walk, it's not something I had imagined doing. But I feel like I'm about to do something special.

Impossible to get lost. Tour companies will guarantee a room and private bathroom, big plus, but very easy to do on your own. The amino will ve packed, no matter how warm, however, temperatures in galicia are nothing like castile. There are yelliw arrows everywhere, and pilgrims in front if you and behind you!

Buen camino

Since I have my itinerary here I thought I'd ask this question as well. Do you recommend hiking poles/sticks for this length of walk for someone whose knees seem ok so far?
