Are advanced tickets for train to SJPDP necessary?

We will be traveling from Bayonne to SJPDP to begin our Camino on Saturday, June 10th. We are able to book train tickets online, but there is a booking fee.

We need to make sure that we make it there on that day - but want to find out if the train is overbooked regularly. If it is not, we will skip the booking fee.

Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Reservations are not necessary for the local TER line 62 train from Bayonne to SJPdP. Seating is open as on a tram. When you arrive in Bayonne you may purchase your ticket at the railroad station either from a machine using your credit card or from a live clerk who will take cash or card.
