Am getting over a nasty chest cold and still sound awful. Would like my own room in Astorga for two days. Any recommendations?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Via de La Plata spa has steam and dry spa as well as wonderfully rejuvenating water spa and very reasonable rates for an indulgence (and a fine pilgrim menu at their restaurant in the main square).

Stayed at Hotel Gaudi. Was well located and clean, if not fancy or new. View was amazing out our room.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Hi jkberry - Hotel Astur Plaza is lovely. I stayed there on two separate occasions. Clean, spacious rooms and very friendly staff everywhere - from the front desk to the wait staff in the huge breakfast room. Ask for the pilgrim discount. If you take the deal with breakfast included you will not be disappointed - the breakfast buffet is generous and delicious - lots of options for nutritious foods to help you get over your cold.
Best wishes for an early recovery and Buen Camino -
Jenny
PS - the staff in the pharmacy on the opposite side of the square are very kind and helpful - if you need to restock your cold/flu medications.

When suffering from a heavy cold, you need something more healthy than Cocido Maragato!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

If you can afford it - this would be my suggestion too. It is amazing - the "SPA" is well worth the 25 Euro if it is in your budget. Very close to the main square and a wonderful chocolate place.

Posada Real Casa de Tepa- was there last evening and loved the old world charm, quiet and gracious innkeeper. European breakfast, great location.ADF01E7F-168D-4502-9AB6-64A459D6B12B.jpeg

Was extremely ill when I arrived at Hostel Coruña. They took me to clinic for emergency treatment. Fabulous staff. Comfy clean room.

Maybe, maybe not: for now that is just speculation.
Please let's wait for the situation to get clearer before we cast aspersions.
Update: It turns out Hotel Coruna is just fine. Most likely better than fine:
Things are working out. The Hotel Coruna is NOT run by criminals, bank transfers take days to arrive, and the OP is on her way to a cozy safe place in Castrillo de los Polvozares.

Hotel Astur Plaza is great place to stay. Buffet breakfast was great,
Not just sugary stuff to start your day. Orange juice was superb, never
tasted OJ like that before.
Hope, you will feel better soon.
Cathy.
