Back for Christmas & New Years

Hi, all

I'm a Brazilian living in New York city. I walked from SJPP to Sahagun. started on 17/10/09 and finished on 08/11/09. Met great people and had the most amazing experience of my life. I want to finish next year, so I want to go back now during the Holiday Season. Planning on returning to Sahagun, my last stop, and walk probably all the way to Vilafranca del Bierzo.

Any advise on what should I expect?

I know it'll be cold and lonely, but that don't make me feel like turning back. Any thoughts from the more experienced "peregrinos"?

Happy Holidays

Welcome to the forum.
I think that there are some people posting here that are walking the Camino now. Perhaps you will meet up with them. You will probably find that most albergues are closed and that you will have to seek out private hostels and hotels. That is not all bad and can be very rewarding. I think you will have a very good experience...except for the weather.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I live 9 km from Sahagun, the sun is shining brightly, and there are at least 20 pilgrims a day out there walking! (Have three young Aussies here right now -- still fast asleep at 10:30 a.m.)The actual holidays: Dec. 24 and 25, and Jan. 6, you may have trouble finding a place to stay. But something will be there for you. Just do it!
