Time of past OR future Camino
Life is one big adventure - follow your dreams.
I'm planning on doing the Camino Via De La Plata in mid April 2011. My plan is to fly in and out of Madrid. What is the best way of travelling to Seville to start this walk? Getting to Madrid on completion is not a problem

Gracias

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Hi Sharon,
There are regular flights from Madrid to Seville on Iberia - about 170 euro
You can go by fast train (AVE) http://www.renfe.es - it takes about 2.5 hours and costs ± 73 euro.
Or, you can go by bus: http://www.socibus.es/index.jsp - about 8 buses per day, take 6.5 hours and cost 19.50 euro.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I would just add an endorsement of the AVE high speed train. And if you buy your ticket in advance (I think the earliest you can buy online from RENFE is 120 days in advance), the price drops to about 30E.

There is also now a bus straight from the Madrid airport to Atocha. I posted the information here:

I've always taken the metro from the airport to Atocha, but it requires changes and of course you have to be alert for pickpockets. This bus seems like a great alternative.
Buen camino, Laurie
