Burgos to Leon .. Only 5 days (what parts would you take a bus?)

Time of past OR future Camino
Apr & Sep 2013, Apr 2014, 2015, Sep 2022, 2023
We are about to start second leg of our Camino (Logrono to Leon) in 3 weeks. Due to time restraints (and existing itinerary) we must get from Burgos to Leon in just 5 days ... Not ideal, but we need to fit in with Australian school holidays and is the best we can manage timewise for this trip. In any case we will need to bus (train?) certain parts of the journey .. Would appreciate input/opinions on what we could skip ... and conversely what we cannot miss! Also appreciate advice on bus routes/frequency along this part of Camino. Thanks! Jo

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Jo,

Personally I would walk as far as you could in the five days available and then take a bus to Leon. Alsa is the bus company for your Burgos to Leon route. Click for their web.

Happy planning and Buen Camino,

Margaret Meredith

I'd do the same as Margaret. It took me 5 days to walk to Bercianos del Real Camino. After that, it is two days of next-to-the-road walking into Leon. Charming in its own way, but not the most beautiful walk imho. Buen camino!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Thanks Margaret & NoorvanderVeen ..... That makes perfect sense and the information on the buses is most appreciated too.... thanks, Jo
