I remember seeing many people buying bus tickets to Leon from here. I assume these busses would stop at places along the way - does anyone know if it is possible to stop anywhere before Calzadilla de la Cueza?
I am trying to put together a route for my father-in-law that does not exceed 10km, or an absolute maximum of 12km in a day and this stretch is 17km - quite unthinkable for him. At the same time, we do not want to skip over the Meseta and we just want to shorten this day if we possibly can.
I'm really keen to make Moratinos a definite stop too (so stopping at Ledigos would be ideal if there is nothing before Calzadilla)

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
You really might want to pm @Rebekah Scott for that one! She will be the most knowledgeable person around to give you that kind of local travel advice! Buen Camino, SY

I did think of that but thought she must get sick of that kind of question - there is bound to be someone else who knows and can share a little camino love;-)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Rachel. We cheated and took it once. You buy the ticket in the bar which is in front of the bus stop. I think it left at 12 midday. We got off at the first possible place to continue walking, which was Terradillos.

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Thanks AnnaCostaRica (that's how I imagine you!!!) This is exactly the info I wanted. While it means a long stretch is done in the bus, it is a perfect distance to then toddle into Moratinos!
I know the bar - wonderful tortilla de patatas and a long wifi code and a guy who won big on the pokie machine.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
