I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS A PLACE TO BUY A NEW OR USED BACKPACK IN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA. I WOULD NOT WANT TO BRING IT FROM THE STATES OR CONTINUE TRAVELING WITH IT AFTER I REACH SANTIAGO UNLESS I HAVE TO. DO PILGRIMS SELL THEIR EQUIPMENT AFTER THEY FINISH THE CAMINO?
THANK YOU.
BUEN CAMINO!

Johnnie - this is a question for you!!

I've seen stuff dumped in Santiago but I don't know about buying and selling of equipment. Many pilgrims dumped stuff at the albergue in Finisterre - boots, packs, clothing, sticks etc etc etc. Perhaps we should all walk the Camino the other way and kit out at Fistera!

Hi Shaman

Pilgrims don't leave rucksacks behind or try to sell them - they take them home for their next camino! However there are a number of shops which sell rucksacks and all other gear. As has been mentioned Decathlon is one. Either call into the Pilgrims' Office and we will give you directions to the shops or go to the Tourist Office in the same street as the Pilgrims' Office.

Best wishes

John
