Hi, there.
I'm Korean young woman, but I 've been in Paris since September.
i want to start Camino France from Saint Jean Pied de Port to Santiago or more , I made a resevation my train for Saint Jean which depart at 10 in 4 December.
I know there is few people(or nobody) on the Camino in winter especially in December and January.
I started to feel afraid if i will be alone on the way.
Is anyone there who starts Camino in December ??

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

You won't meet very many pilgrims in December and January, and many albergues will be closed, some for the year, but some just for the Christmas holidays. The larger towns with more than one albergue will usually still have one open. You should be prepared to stay in hostals and hotels. It is very peaceful walking in the winter.

Cocolooloo,

My wife and I will be departing St. Jean on Dec 15th for Santiago and she is Korean. By the sound of things we should be about 10 days behind you. If you get delayed perhaps we will meet up.

Buen camino,
John

Hi Cocolooloo,

I haven't walked in December--although I'd like to someday. I recently interviewed a winter pilgrim on my blog, though. She had some trouble at the beginning, but ended up having a great experience--and found other people to walk with, in addition to the friend she started out with.

Buen Camino!
