I found this gem written on the underside of a bunk bed, and it always reminds me of a favorite Camino pastime/distraction.

There one was a pilgrim in Spain
Whom doctors classed as insane.
When asked why this was,
they said it’s because,
all that snoring had addled his brain.


Does anybody else like to invent limericks for their fellow pilgrims?

For me it was a common distraction for getting through the more difficult stretches; those times when it was nice to have someone to talk to or a song to sing.

There once was a pilgrim from bath,
Whose hygiene engendered must wrath,
Dousing his body with pulpa
He marched forth without culpa
To cheers all along the path
 
An unfortunate pilgrim from the Land of the Free
twisted two ankles and also one knee
no more trails he could go
but thanks to Express Bourricot
he was forwarded to Ivar in Santiago de C
