Hi,

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Hello! I'm starting in Almeria on April 14, along with several other forum members. It seems to be a route that is attracting a lot of new interest.

Are you guys able to take note of places stayed etc as hubby and I are thinking this route leading to Via de la Plata might be the route for us Sept 2019 and nothing comes up on Gronzo about accom thus far. Would really really appreciate hearing about the hike.

There are albergues and other accomodations on the Mozarabe, so that won't be a problem. I do recommend leaving as late in September as possible because you are trekking through the hottest parts of Spain. Even in early fall, it stays really hot.

Thanks Camino Addict, I live in Australia so the heat is not usually too much of a problem but I will definitely heed your warning. So if I leave late in Sept that would mean arriving in late November to Santiago - do I need to consider snow as well?

You're welcome, and the heat in Southern Spain (Fun fact: A lot of old Westerns were filmed in Southern Spain partly because the terrain is similar) can compete with OZ temperatures, so I believe you know what to look out for. In regards to snow, the mountain ranges on the Northeast Portugal/Northwest Spain border get snow in the winter, and there is a very small chance it could effect your Camino that time of year, but that would be really surprising.

Here is a short clip of our Camino Mozarabe in 2016. It was a very solitary route as we did not see one other peregrino but a great walk - rather hot in May June - over 40 when we reached Cordoba .

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
