The "Computer Guy' took my computer away for three days for repairs.
When the computer came back yesterday afternoon, I found 237 emails in my Gmail account and 134 in my Mweb account. I neeeerly-died!
80% of the emails were from Forums. I didn't realise how many forums I belonged to - six camino forums and the VF forum, two backpacking forums and three writing forums. All of them send emails when someone posts or responds to posts. I also belong to camino groups and other groups on Facebook, all with messages landing up in my email box. No wonder I never have time to do my housework properly!
I decided to use my lessons learned from the camino and downsize, springclean, minimize ... let go! I played eeny-meeny-miny-mo and have left 2 camino forums (Caminosantiago.com and Santiagobis) - both backpacking forums, one writing forum and three Facebook groups.

My name is Sil and I am a camino-aholic: my name is Sil and I am a camino-holic: my name is Sil.......

I am all for downsizing... have been doing it myself ever since I got home from the Camino!! But when you said you have left two forums, I first took it to mean those are the ones you still have..... and I thought.... oh no..... this is sil's parting note.... then I realised I had misunderstood.... and you are staying here .... I think!!!

I´m afraid dear amiga Sil that the only cure for this addiction is more of the same. At least on the Way we don´t access the internet as much as at home...so.... :)

Regards (your fellow addict)

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

You are right - or one can live vicariously and follow everyone else's camino.
That is why I became a Forum junkie!
