I would like to walk the river route in Tui next month. I can see on google maps exactly where it starts, but it seems a bit overgrown. Has anybody used this route this year or last year? Could it get flooded if there is a lot of rain? Is it very isolated? I have been walking solo since 2007 and have never been frightened, but at 80 the abilities for flight and fight are greatly diminished!!! I would appreciate any comments. Lydia

I have no idea about the river route.
My post is to express my admiration and respect. . 80s and on the Camino.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you for replying Roz.
No Roz I mean a path that is upstream from Valenca/Tui. I mean the Minho river path upstream on the North side of the river The path starts in Tui immediately after one passes over the bridge from Valenca. One does not even have to step on the road , there is a path downhill to the right that run along the river in a north easterly direction until it comes to Ramps and a nautical club which is near the Hotel Torre do Xudeu, or Rua Bishop Lago. I will be staying in Villa San Clemente which is about 300 meters further North. So it would make a very pleasant walk for me. I will come back into town in the evening to attend Mass and get a stamp in the Cathedral. Once again thank you for replying. Lydia

Hi Lydia, I walked that way last April because of road
Construction and getting a little lost. It was lovely, went along the River then through an old neighborhood and then around a church and monastery. I’m not sure how far I walked on it until turning back north but it was very nice and didn’t feel too lonely.

Hi Sarah, thank you very much. I look forward to walking along the river next month. Lydia
